Kindergarten

Pre-K and Kindergarten

The Kindergarten curriculum is based on the fact that the child is a creator and that they learn through the formation of positive relations with themselves and others with the ultimate goal being the cultivation of life skills.

Educators provide love, responsiveness and sensitivity, discern the children’s excitement and inquisitiveness about what’s happening in their world and encourage their urge to explore through active learning.

Educational work

Education at Play & Learn is based on the communication between teacher and teacher, teacher-child, parent-child, parent-teacher, parent-parent. School is a place of research, a place of participation where values are shared and knowledge is the result of wish.

At Play & Learn, the child is the main protagonist, able to build their own knowledge. The educator, working together with other educators, observes, analyses and enriches group or individual play. Her communication with the children relies on the trust she bestows upon the children in order for them to build the knowledge that is a prerequisite for learning.

Assessment

The Play & Learn Kindergarten aims at promoting a culture of evaluation and self-assessment by the educators in order for them to be analytical, conscious and to reflect their methodology.

The school unit follows an annual collective planning of the educational work, which includes the setting of educational goals and the scheduling of respective collective actions to prevent, monitor and deal with any problems, so as to improve the quality of the educator’s educational work.

Each class comprises 12-15 children and is available from 7.30 a.m.-16.00 p.m. from 1st September until the end of June.

The school is open from 11th September – 15th June, while a summer program is also available until the end of July.
